The absence of objections or suggestions against the nominees by the April 19th deadline has led to the consensus that Kanzure, Murch, Jonatack, Ruben, and Roasbeef will be officially appointed as BIP editors on Monday, April 22nd. This step is expected to significantly contribute to the repository's functionality and the broader goal of fostering more active participation and discussion within the community.
Furthermore, concerns have been raised regarding the handling of the backlog of BIP modification pull requests (PRs) on GitHub, particularly those that have been pending for several months without substantial discussion or progress. The lack of engagement from individuals other than the BIP authors themselves has been identified as a major bottleneck in advancing these PRs. In light of this, there is a suggestion for the newly appointed editors to actively facilitate discussions on these older PRs. By doing so, they could play a crucial role in clearing the backlog and ensuring that these modifications are thoroughly evaluated and discussed, thereby enhancing the overall process of BIP management and development.
