We made the bitcoin-dev mailing list readable: 15 years, 24,699 messages

The archive now includes a navigation section titled "Years," which provides an organized listing of every year since 2011, along with the count of threads for each year. Each individual year page presents threads initiated during that year, grouped by month. These months are ordered according to the date of the first message in each thread, allowing users to see the progression throughout the year.

At the top of each year page, a row of month links enables rapid navigation to any specific month without the need for excessive scrolling. Month headings function as anchors, so selecting, for example, “June 2015” takes the user directly to that section on the page. This design improves efficiency when searching for discussions from a particular time frame.

Additionally, the homepage features a “Recently active” list that displays the newest messages first, offering a chronological view of recent activity. The navigation entry was previously labeled “Numbers,” which did not clearly indicate its function as the main access point for date-based browsing. This entry has been renamed and enhanced with a new month bar, improving both clarity and usability in response to user feedback.
