The recent observations highlight an issue with lagging GETDATA responses, which have been found to delay transaction relays by as much as a minute. This delay raises concerns about the efficiency of network operations and the potential bottlenecks in data handling. Upon investigating the cause of these delays, it was clarified through interactions with a bot that the slowdowns were not due to the time taken for validating blocks or transactions. Instead, the nature of the transactions, characterized primarily by linear chains of small rune mints, suggests that these should be relatively straightforward to verify. This discrepancy between expected and actual performance indicates other underlying issues in the system’s response mechanisms that need to be addressed to optimize transaction processing times.
