In response to a discussion on the development and implementation of an online system, Dan acknowledges the challenges associated with meeting a tight timeline for its completion.

He mentions having previously underestimated the urgency of the project, recognizing that a fully realized solution would not be ready in just two months. Despite technical reservations, he expresses a growing admiration for certain aspects of the system, though he clarifies they are unrelated to the current conversation.

Dan outlines different methods to organize content within the system, showing a preference for utilizing labels or topic tags as a means to compile lists which anyone can contribute to. He suggests that moderation could be effectively managed client-side, as is already practiced in existing nostr clients, leveraging techniques such as Proof of Work (PoW) and web of trust combined with labeling to maintain content quality. He notes, however, that using a moderated communities model would impose the same level of moderation burden that currently exists, while offering similar controls over the content.

Furthermore, Dan touches on the accessibility of the new system, stating that it has a very low barrier to entry. He proposes the creation of an email bridge to facilitate users accustomed to email, acknowledging email's universality and potential richness compared to nostr. While he has a personal preference for email, he concedes that from the perspective of an email user, the experience of using nostr via an email bridge would not differ significantly from existing list servers.

With respect to the timeline, Dan admits that achieving the desired objectives for the list by the end of 2023 is implausible, particularly if he were to lead the development given his other commitments. Nevertheless, he hints at the possibility of creating a minimally viable product (MVP) for the bridge and a web client for future evaluation if there is sufficient interest in the project.
